How does regression lead to forward progress? When should you say no? And how can stirring the pot stimulate change?
Learn how making space (like when we take some R&R over the summer) must then be protected and filled with your passion.
How is touch related to innovation? Can you actually get ahead by not delivering on expectations? And why does pressure help us perform?
Read on for blog two from my recent interview with Kiki Chansamone, an entrepreneur, illustrator, writer, editor, as well as Chief Marketing Officer of a women’s beauty brand, Christine. See below for his secrets to leading and living creatively, for success in business and beyond.
So often we lose our creative and playful spark under the guise of being responsible. How many of these rules and “must do’s” are self-imposed? And in what order of priority are your responsibilities? Where does your own joy lie on your to-do list?
The world needs passionate, creative, and nimble leaders. An executive without creativity will always be following someone else’s inspiration. Become the creative director of your career and your life.
In the Expert Dojo at Santa Monica Place, with a setting sun, kale salad and dynamic conversation, entrepreneurs and business leaders from across Los Angeles gathered to discuss innovative and purposeful ways to build businesses and brands. This Conscious Capitalism LA (@consciouscapitalismLA) event featured a presentation by Enso Agency (@helloenso) on the new #AgeofAgency. Through stories, such as Google ad words enabling a Bedouin community to thrive via tourism, or a 13 year old who revolutionized school lunches, presenters shared the increasing power of people to transform the world.

It feels to me this pace of change has vastly accelerated in the last three to five years. I’m willing to say we are in the midst of a paradigm shift.
The other day I had a bag of trail mix in my car. The kind with a little chocolate in it. In the rush of the morning I grabbed this snack as breakfast, and told myself I’d skip the chocolate and eat the nuts and dried fruit.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how motivated are you today? Towards what goal? How determined are you? Do you have the internal fire to overcome resistance? To work on the important, not just easy, tasks? The discipline to spend quality time with your team or to prospect new leads?
Great leaders can withstand fire, and yet also know how and when to cool down in order to keep their equanimity.
In our last blog, Embrace the Heat, we talked about soaking in the sun and soaking in feedback in order to grow.
What’s next? Learn to take your temperature the mindful way, so you know when to stay in the heat and when to find shade.
